The story starts in New Delhi, in the scorching months of May. Bylanes of Chandni Chowk simmered with the hot loo, famous for Delhi at that time. The frying kachoris and puris made the narrow lanes more suffocating. I had a light lehenga in my mind, like this one, for the engagement, and a budget of max 20k.
After strolling many a narrow lanes, pushing away commission agents, gulping down dahi bhallas from Natraj, encounters with shady shopkeepers, finding beautiful yet out of budget lehengas at some of the famous stores of chandni chowk, we returned empty handed. Continue reading
